This print shows the beautifully built life boat station at South Sands, once the home to Salcombe’s lifeboat, before it was moved to the town Quay. I have also detailed the blue ‘sea tractor’ which carries people out to board the ferry, which has to stand off because of the shallow beach. The ferry  plies daily between South Sands and Salcombe town and is a lovely way to see the estuary.
