The view is westwards from the sand dunes at Bantham and I remember seeing Burgh Island for the first time from here and it was a real thrill. The Island has a great history, its own very ancient pub and a wonderful Art Deco hotel. If you ever get to visit the island, see if you can make the journey out there on the sea tractor, which churns its way across the shallow sea when the tide is high, it’s like riding on the back of an elephant.
