In midsummer Daymer can get almost as crowded as Polzeath (but with fewer surfboard but more dogs). Early in the season it is an absolutely beautiful spot; the once buried St Enodoc Church is tucked in behind the dunes while Brea Hill shows off its lovely humpbacked-whale curve. On this spring day there were very few people on the beach, and I made a bit of a focus of the young couple carrying their child through shallow water, possibly his/her first visit of many to come.
