Camped up on the coast path and looking across Polzeath beach to Stepper Point with the tide fallings fast, it was a real challenge to catch the movement of the waves, particularly as in watercolour the only white available is the white of the paper, so all the wave shapes had to be painted around with the various blues and blue-greens; not an easy task when painting at top speed.
