On the day I painted this, perched up on the cliff at Daymer there was not a breath of wind and the tiny waves came ashore one after the other in complete silence. It was as if the whole estuary was taking a breather after all the activity of the hectic summer months, even Padstow looked quiet and for once there were very few people around.
