This is one of my favourite views, up the Camel Estuary to Padstow at low tide. There were very few people about and the expansiveness of the view captivated me. I was quick to pencil in the lovely patterns left by the retreating tide (a subject of endless fascination to me) so that I would have something to anchor my painting to after the sea returned. It is interesting to note that the sand dunes in the middle distance now (2021) no longer exist; they have been swept away by the winter storms!
