I love the way a falling tide will (re)organise the sand into beautiful sinuous patterns. In this painting I emphasised those patterns and the way the slightly purple/blue reflections of the sky ‘sing’ against the warm buff of the dry sand. All day long people trekked down to the sea to swim and surf and as luck would have it the red boogie board turned up in the right place at the right time.
