Greenaway lies more or less half way between Polzeath and Daymer and because it is a bit of a hike from any car park and quite a steep climb down to the rocks and the beach it tends to be very quiet even when other places are heaving. Trebetherick Point overlooks Greenaway and its one of my favourite spots to paint from, with beautiful views across to Pentire Point and the ever-present challenge of the sea and the rocks. On this occasion in mid September the autumn colours were beginning to show on Pentire and one lucky paddle boarder managed to paddle his way into a painting.
