I painted this, or at least completed it, at Daymer, on Thursday the 2nd of June 2022 and it wasn’t a deliberate thing but somehow the picture echoes the colours red, white and blue and now has a certain feel of nostalgia to it. At low tide the sand seems to go on forever, which generated a huge stage for me to populate with a few carefully positioned coloured dots.
