I painted this in the middle of August at the height of the summer season, it was a lovey bright calm day and just as I thought ‘this is as good as it gets’ a woman in a bright viridian beach robe walked down to the sea. The green robe looked as bright as an iridescent green-scarab beetle’s back and I knew I had found the perfect focal point for my painting.
