I painted this sitting up on the cliffs at Trebetherick Point looking over towards Pentire cliffs, it is one of my favourite painting spots. As an amateur geologist I am fascinated by the grey- green and grey -purple bands of sedimentary rock that surface along the shore and as it happens a family were camping all day with a beautiful bright orange tent, just below me in the gulley, which set off the scene perfectly.
