Bench Tor is just to the north of Venford reservoir and is an easy walk from there. The views down the Dart Gorge are quite breath-taking and in this picture, which I painted on site, I have tried to capture the sense of space; with the river just glimpsed at the bottom of the steeply wooded gorge and the open wilderness of the moors far off to the west.
