This beautiful Gothic parish church is, I think, made the more beautiful by it sitting so close to Bristol docks and its reflection in the water. It is a very ancient church dating originally from the 12th century and over the passing decades has been added to and adorned by the good and the great of Bristol. Sailors returning home after perilous journeys would pray there for their safe homecoming and its tall spire provided a very useful landmark.
