I turned this very simple strong  oak bowl from a tree that had been down only a few weeks (in woodturning speak 'turned green' ) As a result the drying process has reshaped the bowl in a very dramatic way making it oval when seen from above and boat shaped in profile . I love this new organic form and actually prefer it to the formal perfect circle . The walls are about 1/4 inch thick and being oak it is very strong.
