paintings of Dartmoor by Mark Gibbons

South from Tavy Cleave LF10-T31

After the River Tavy passes through the confines of Tavy Cleave it moves on southwest down a broad valley towards Tavistock. In the distance White Tor can be seen rising through the mist. The composition is anchored by the small mass of trees clinging to the hillside in the middle-distance and their long blue shadow on the hill suggests the strong low-angled light.
